Certification of Daniel Ellsberg, March 13, 2012
Ellsberg’s certification in Hedges v. Obama–a 2012 federal suit challenging the National Defense Authorization Act, of which Ellsberg was a plaintiff–speaks to his consistent and passionate dedication to freedom of speech and whistleblowing, as well as his keen attention to detail–he stresses the distinction that neither he nor other whistleblowers can be “reasonably deemed” to be enemies of the United States. This document caught my eye for being a direct legal challenge to presidential policies and a demonstration of Ellsberg’s continued commitment to public dissent.
