The EHS Radiation & Laser Safety Program is responsible for assisting the university community in the safe use of ionizing radiation including radioactive materials (RAM) and radiation producing machines. The program protects radiation user, staff, students, and the general public from radiation exposure. We provide information and training to ensure the safe receipt, handling, use and storage of radiation and radioactive material. We assist users to maintain all radiation exposures as low as reasonably achievable.
The Radiation Safety & Laser Safety Manuals represent the institutional practices and procedures for the safe use and handling of radiological materials. This document is based on the latest government regulatory requirements, guidelines, and current professional standards.
