Trainings
The EHS trainings below are available to UMass faculty, staff and students. Many of the trainings are required as part of lab, maintenance and construction safety programs. Some courses, such as CPR/AED and UMass Amherst Emergency Preparedness Training are highly recommended for all members of our university community.
A Net ID is required to access trainings in SciShield. Your UMass Net ID must be used as your primary email address in SPIRE for the training information to be successfully synced with other platforms like CORUM and Kuali. If you receive training non-compliance messages from those platforms when your trainings are current, please check that your SPIRE information is correct.
Individuals who are not part of the UMass community must have a NENS setup for them to be able to access the trainings. It may take up to a week for the NENS to be fully processed to access SciShield. If you encounter any difficulties setting up the NENS, please contact OIT at 413-545-9400 or @email. It is important to note that in the event of your password expiring, access to SciShield for training purposes will not be possible. Nevertheless, you will still have access to other University services such as email.
