Lab Personal Protective Equipment
The University of Massachusetts recognizes the presence of hazards in the workplace that cannot be mitigated through engineering controls or other methods. In an effort to protect our employees, personal protective equipment (PPE) must be used to reduce and/or eliminate the exposure to these hazards.
For labs, the basic PPE consists of eye protection and an appropriate lab coat and gloves. EHS provides everyone working in a lab with a free pair of safety glasses or chemical splash goggles. See the link below for more information and to order.
