Before beginning her journey at UMASS in the Fall of 2018, Siyu earned a B.S. in Psychology from Central China Normal University and an M.A. in Educational Psychology with a Quantitative Methodology concentration from University of Georgia. After engaged in some measurement-related projects, she found herself interested in applying statistical and measurement methodologies to educational assessment, including, but not limited to, Item Response Theory (IRT) and Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT). Siyu especially appreciates that the Research, Educational Measurement, and Psychometrics program at UMASS provides students with ample opportunities to be creative while staying firmly grounded in practical issues.
