Postdoctoral Fellow Ally Hunter will be facilitating Culturally Responsive Pedagogy, a UMass iCons faculty development workshop, from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm on January 28, 2020.
In this workshop, participants will examine the framework of Culturally Responsive Pedagogy (CRP) as a lens for creating inclusion in the classroom. Using CRP, participants will consider how to broaden cultural connections and cultural inclusion for student-driven topics. Participants will expand their perspectives around language justice and challenge the privileging of certain topics and viewpoints in STEM classrooms. The context of the workshop will focus on STEM teaching, however, the framework, ideas, and pedagogies we will work with are not STEM specifically. They can be used in any classroom/discipline.
Participation is limited to 20 attendees.
