Dr. Andrea D. Domingue, an alumna of the Social Justice Education Ph.D. program and current Assistant Dean of Students for Diversity and Inclusion at Davidson College, and Dr. Genia Bettencourt, Postdoctoral Research Associate for the Center for Student Success Research, were both recognized by the American College Personnel Association Foundation. Dr. Carmen Woodhall, Coordinator of Science Education Online, is working with co-author, Vicky Zygouris-Coe, on the book, Disciplinary Literacy Strategies that Support Science Learning in Grades 9-12, to be published in Fall 2020 by the National Science Teaching Association (NSTA).

Center for Latin American, Caribbean, and Latino Studies (CLACLS) hosted its Summer 2019 Pre-Dissertation Grant Award Panel where several College of Education recipients presented their findings and participated in a Q & A.

Kat Stephens, doctoral candidate in Higher Education, will serve as chair at two sessions during the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE) Graduate Student Policy Seminar in Portland, Oregon in November.

As part of the UMass Amherst Department of Anthropology's 50th anniversary conference, “Engaging Anthropology," Language, Literacy, and Culture (LLC) students Rosa Alejandra Medina Riveros and Emma Britton with faculty members, Dr. Maria José Botelho and Dr. Theresa Austin, presented the panel, "Insights from entanglements in classroom research to journal publication - Learning & Living Ethnographic Lessons on criticality, reflexivity, and positionality."
