Our Mission
The Massachusetts Undergraduate Journal of Economics (MUJE) welcomes submissions on economic topics from undergraduate students in all majors at the Five Colleges and at all institutions of public higher education in the Commonwealth. As the world faces an economic crisis and as protests against institutional racism sweep across the United States and beyond amidst a global pandemic, the 2020 edition will be centered around the coronavirus and the global economy. Students are encouraged to submit a relevant essay that successfully incorporates this year’s theme.
Examples of interesting topics include but are not limited to: an analysis of a specific countercyclical policy implemented to counteract the economic downturn, an exploration of the racial wealth gap in the United States, or a comparative essay on how one country is handling the crisis better than another country. Articles typically run three to ten pages. See previous editions below.
- Volume 1: MUJE 2013
- Volume 2: MUJE 2014
- Volume 3: MUJE 2015
- Volume 4: MUJE 2016
- Volume 5: MUJE 2019
