The Undergraduate Economics Club (UEC) serves as an outlet for undergraduates from any major to become more involved in the activities of the Department of Economics and the University. The UEC aims to foster relationships between undergraduates, faculty, and alumni. The club helps undergraduates find resources to help them academically, activities to meet and connect with faculty and alumni, and information and contacts to gain internships or employment after graduation. Faculty involvement with the club consists of building relationships with the students and getting feedback and perspective on the undergraduate program from students. A winter alumni networking trip for students to Boston, Washington D.C. or New York has been a tradition of our club.
The UEC also serves as a way for alumni to meet students, help them with the transition to the working world, foster a lasting relationship with the department, and build the next generation of advocates for the Department of Economics and the University. All students who have an interest in economics are welcomed and encouraged to join the UEC, regardless of major.
