Fundraising

On Monday, November 13, 2023, the "Japanese Program Career Support MinuteFund" will start. The primary objective of this fundraising campaign is to raise $5000, which will be used to award one exceptional student a scholarship for a three-month internship in Japan during the summer of 2024. In the contemporary job market, internships are invaluable for gaining practical experience and building professional networks. However, the high costs associated with airfare and housing often deter students from pursuing these opportunities. With a $5000 scholarship, the Japanese Program at UMass Amherst aims to eliminate these financial barriers, ensuring that all students, regardless of their financial backgrounds, can participate in this transformative experience.

While this scholarship will directly benefit one deserving student, it also symbolizes the program's unwavering commitment to supporting the career development of all its students. The success of the Japanese Program Career Support MinuteFund will not only provide a unique opportunity for one individual but also lay the foundation for future fundraisers. These efforts will, in turn, help shape the future of students' careers and contribute to the promotion of intercultural understanding in an increasingly interconnected world.

The Japanese Program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst invites supporters, alumni, and anyone passionate about empowering students to join them in making a difference today. Through their collective efforts, they aim to provide students with the tools they need to succeed in an evolving job market and foster a greater appreciation for intercultural exchange.
