Students must achieve a grade of C or better in a course for it to be counted toward the major. Students must have a minimum GPA in the major of 2.0 in order to satisfy the requirements in Japanese Language and Literature.

No pass/fail options will be accepted for those courses used toward completion of the requirements for the major. (Courses designated as mandatory pass/fail, however, may be considered for credit toward this major. Consult your advisor.)

Double majors need to complete the Junior Year Writing requirement in only one of their majors. The Integrative Experience requirement needs to be fulfilled in their primary major. Only 6 credits from other institutions within and without the Five College consortium may be applied to this major. This shall not apply to credits transferred from study abroad.

Note: Some courses approved and occasionally taught by Japanese faculty are not listed here. For more information, contact Professor Stephen Forrest (@email) or Professor Reiko Sono (@email).
