Japanese Program Internship Support Grant

The Internship Support Grant, established in 2023, is a generous initiative funded by the alumni, faculty, students, families, and supporters of the Japanese Program. This grant is designed to help Japanese majors gain invaluable professional experience by interning in Japan, ensuring they are well-prepared for their careers upon graduation.

Grant Details

Coverage: The grant covers airfare and lodging for the duration of the internship in Japan.

Eligibility: Open to all Japanese majors. However, it is strongly recommended that students apply during their junior year to facilitate an internship during the summer before their senior year.

Duration: Internships should last at least one month, with a preference for two-month engagements.

Finding an Internship: While students are encouraged to secure their own internship positions, the coordinator of the support grant is available to assist those who need help in finding a suitable placement.

Application Process

Opening Date: Applications open in December.

Announcement: Grantees will be announced in January.
