Join us every Friday this fall semester for Chinese Language Club! All levels of Chinese language ability are welcome. If you're interested in Chinese language and culture then this is the place! Each week we'll have activities and discussions for you to enjoy and participate in. 

The list below will be updated as the weekly activities are scheduled. Please keep checking back to see what we have in store. Hope to see you there!

  • 9/27 -  Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival - Let's learn about the history, customs, significance, and legends of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
     
  • 10/4 - Discover Chinese Greeting Culture - We will discuss different Chinese greetings and their cultural significance.
     
  • 10/11 & 10/18 - Explore the Colors of China! - Explore the meanings of Chinese colors, their significance in tradition and festivals, and enjoy a hands-on painting activity!
     
  • 10/25 - Separable Words (li he ci 离合词) in Chinese - Understanding separable words is essential for mastering everyday Chinese expressions and improving fluency.
     
  • 11/1 - Dive into the Art of Chinese Calligraphy - Bring your creativity, and let's have fun with ink and brush as we learn the basics of brush techniques, and practice writing some characters!
     
  • 11/8 - Let's View Chinese Drama! - Join us as we look at Chinese culture and everyday life through a viewing of Chinese dramas!
     
  • 11/15 - Discover the Stars of Chinese Pop Culture! - Explore the vibrant world of Chinese entertainment as we dive into the lives of popular singers and actors, their music, films, and their impact on modern Chinese culture.
     
  • 11/22 - Discover Chinese Homophones through Games! - Join us for a fun-filled Language Corner session packed with learning and exciting games as we explore the magic of Chinese words that sound the same but mean something completely different!
     
  • 11/29 - Thanksgiving Break, no meeting.
     
  • 12/6 - Chinese Calligraphy: Round 2! - You asked for it, and we're bringing it back! Learn the basic strokes and practice some characters. All skill levels welcome, materials will be provided!
