Expressive and Receptive Prosody in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder:
The Impact of Language, Speech Motor Control, and Auditory Processing

The purpose of this study is to develop appropriate Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) assessments and interventions related to the speech and language of individuals with Autism. We would like to study you or your son’s/daughter’s speech and voice when speaking and how your son/daughter hears different sounds. During the study session, your son/daughter will be given some speech, language, and listening tests and will engage in conversations.

Only one session that will take approximately 2 hours is required. Short breaks will be provided as needed. This study is being conducted at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Participants will receive a $35 Gift Card for their participation.

If you are interested in hearing more or participating in this study, please contact Colleen Gargan, M.A. cgargan@umass.edu, or Dr. Mary Andrianopoulos mva@umass.edu.
