Key elements for Negotiation:
Community
Students join a diverse community of peers with the goal of preparing for early careers. Cohorts included large numbers of first-generation college students and transfer students across all majors.
Skills
Students develop critical skills for career readiness including professional communication, relationship building, effective problem solving, and negotiating to achieve their academic and professional goals. They also learn the hidden social norms, expectations, and etiquette in academic and professional workplaces to prepare them for success in college and careers.
Mentorship & Networking
Students learn from and build relationships with professionals from a variety of industries and backgrounds who come to class as guest speakers. They seek advice on career exploration, building professional networks to access apprenticeships and internships, and how to negotiate workplace settings.
