    Equal Opportunity & Access

Our mission is to ensure the UMass Amherst campus community is free from harassment and discrimination, as mandated by law and University policies.

Equal Opportunity & Access Office

The Office of Equal Opportunity and Access is responsible for investigating complaints arising out of the Policy Against Discrimination, Harassment, and Related Interpersonal Violence. The EOA Office assumes responsibility for implementation of these policies, and provides advice, assistance, and training on all issues related to harassment, discrimination, sexual misconduct, sex-based discrimination under Title IX, and retaliation. EOA documents are available in alternative formats by contacting the EOA office at (413) 545-3464 or email.

Location: Bartlett Hall, Room 225, 130 Hicks Way.

Make an appointment: Call (413) 545-3464 or email us before coming to the EOA office. Contacting us prior to your visit, allows us to schedule appointment times based on our available meeting room and waiting area spaces, so we can better plan for social distancing, making it a safer space for everyone who visits and works here. We are more than happy to continue to schedule Zoom and other types of remote meetings for those who prefer not to come into the office.

File a report: Our online Reporting Form allows for concerns to be reported, including anonymously, if you choose.

Non-Discrimination Policy

The EOA Office administers the University's Policy Against Discrimination, Harassment, and Related Interpersonal Violence and the Prohibited Discrimination and Harassment Resolution Procedures. This allows the University to address of all forms of Prohibited Misconduct. EOA also offers consultations & trainings.

Report an Incident

Request support for yourself or someone else, and/or report concerns related to Policy-defined prohibited conduct. This includes reporting your own concerns or making a report under the Policy’s Responsible Employee reporting requirements. UMass Amherst requires all faculty and staff who are Responsible Employees to report known or possible incidents of Unlawful Discrimination based on Sex, Sex-based Harassment, and Retaliation by students, employees, or third parties who are participating or attempting to participate in a university education program or activity.

Title IX

We promote an inclusive, equitable, and caring campus culture and oversee the University’s compliance with Title IX policies as stated in the Policy Against Discrimination, Harassment, and Related Interpersonal Violence. EOA is here to provide you with support & guidance and also provides various trainings for the Campus.
