To the Campus Community,
With a record number of international students enrolled in this year’s incoming class, it is more important than ever for us to highlight the ways in which our international students, faculty, and staff enrich our campus. That’s why we are pleased to celebrate International Education Week from Nov. 13-17 with a series of events that highlight the contributions of our international community.
A full list of events can be found at www.umass.edu/internationalweek. We hope you will make time to join us throughout the week, whether it’s at International Coffee Hour, where students can connect with friends over free snacks and beverages, or at one of several panels that discuss everything from international scholarly exchange to ways to celebrate international students in the classroom.
In addition, the university has joined the national #YouAreWelcomeHere campaign, which strives to make international students feel welcome on campus. We are proud to be part of this campaign and we hope you are, too. Show your support by posting on social media using #YouAreWelcomeHere.
We should all do our best to make every single member of our community feel included, appreciated, and welcome, not just during International Education Week, but every day.
