Penn Pritchard

As OEI's Senior Director for Education & Development, Penn leads educational initiatives to promote equity, inclusion, justice, and belonging throughout the campus community. In addition to facilitating responsive trainings, workshops, and dialogues for students, staff, and faculty, Penn also provides campus change agents with consultation and advising support to advance equity initiatives within their spheres of influence.

Biography

Penn Pritchard (they/them/theirs) is an educator and lifelong learner who is passionate about cultivating equitable, inclusive communities. Their work is informed by nearly two decades of experience in the classroom, working with both youth and adult learners. Prior to their appointment at UMass, Penn was a longtime DEIJB practitioner and consultant in the K-12 independent school world, where they developed expertise in inclusive curriculum, equitable instruction, restorative and dialogic practices, and values-aligned, evidence-informed strategic planning for cultural growth. When teaching, facilitating, and connecting in coalition spaces, Penn invites and encourages each learner to think deeply, engage wholeheartedly, and commit actively to equity and justice as key steps along a path of personal and collective transformation.
