Emmanuel Adero

Emmanuel serves as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Culture and Strategic Initiatives. He leads OEI's efforts to collaborate for the continuous improvement of culture and climate at UMass. This includes oversight of the Climate Incident Response process, coordination with partner offices for climate and culture assessment, and liaising for strategic planning development and alignment and implementing equity action plans for employees. He is proud to help cultivate a university community where everyone belongs and can thrive. Emmanuel also serves on the University's Incident Response Team and Accessibility Advisory Committee, and co-leads the UMass Native Advisory Council.

Emmanuel is a native of the Connecticut River Valley in Western Massachusetts, and holds a B.A. and M.A. in Sociology from UMass.
