Werner, Axel
Biography:
Axel Werner was born in 1945. He studied at the Academy for Performing Arts in Berlin until 1974 and then acted at theaters in Senftenberg, Schwerin, and Magdeburg. He is a member of the Berliner Ensemble. During his theater career, he has worked with many internationally known directors, including Peter Zadek, Heiner Müller, Robert Wilson, Claus Peymann, and Georg Tabori. He is also known as a television and film actor. He recently appeared in Andreas Dresen’s feature film Whisky mit Wodka. Since 2007, Axel Werner has also worked as a set designer for the TV series Notruf Hafenkante.
