Biography:
Nino Sandow was born in East Berlin in 1961. From 1982 to 1988 he studied operatic singing at the Hanns Eisler Music Academy, and from 1985 to 1986 he took classes at the Ernst Busch Academy of Performing Arts, both in Berlin. He also studied musical theater directing from 1990 to 1993 at the Hanns Eisler Music Academy.
After completing his diploma in opera, Sandow was engaged as soloist at the Opera Studio of the Komische Oper Berlin and at the Hans Otto Theater Potsdam. He acted at the Berliner Ensemble from 1992 to 1998. In 1993 he was a director at the Schiller Theater Workshop Berlin.
Sandow has been a freelance actor and singer at many different theaters, as well as in TV and film productions, since 1998. He has directed production at various theaters, including the Berliner Ensemble. He teaches at the Freie Universität Berlin and the Academy for Film and Television in Potsdam-Babelsberg. He has been a guest professor for drama at the Hanns Eisler Music Academy since 2006.
Nino Sandow has released several CDs and has performed as an actor and singer throughout Europe and the US.
