This short documentary consists of the complete, unedited audio of Chilean President Salvador Allende's final radio speech to the Chilean people from his presidential palace La Moneda on September 11, 1973, the day when his government was overthrown by a military coup. The audio is combined with film material that cameraman Peter Hellmich, who visited Chile for another film project at the time, shot from his hotel room across the palace on Sept. 11.
The film is also part of the playlist Chilean Experience in East German Cinema and also available for a Digital Site License for educational partners. Please find more information here.
