International delegations from various youth organizations come to Berlin to demonstrate their international solidarity at the first Free German Youth "Deutschlandtreffen" in 1950. This documentary covers the preparations, events, speeches, and peace demonstration, with particular focus on the West Germany delegation and their desire for unity with their East German peers.

Although scenes of the masses are emphasized, the individual is not forgotten.  The postures, faces, and gazes of the young people exude passion and contentment.
