Synopsis
This film in the "Kinder von Golzow" documentary series provides a retrospective look at growing up in the GDR through a biographical portrait of Bernd and his family. Bernd moves from his small hometown to take a position at an industrial petrochemical plant. By maintaining his qualifications and credentials, he is able to keep a good-paying job and support his wife and two daughters through difficult times.
The footage incorporates segments from earlier films as well as new material and interviews.
