Synopsis

He is surrounded by beautiful flowers, but he only has eyes for the stars in the sky. And what about the man in the clouds, who has all the stars around him? He would be happy with just one flower. The mismatched desires of these unlucky dreamers form the core of this charming and bittersweet pantomime.

Commentary

Vibrant colors and exaggerated character designs bring Star und Flower to life, and the poignant depiction of yearning makes it a memorable watch. The final image of the two cartoon dreamers will surely leave a lasting impression and prod the viewer to consider how the stars always seem brighter in someone else’s sky. Star und Flower presents a timeless parable with social implications in the form of a wonderfully entertaining cartoon.
