This musical, set in the 1920s, is loosely based on the life story of Berlin artist Heinrich Zille. After losing his job as a lithographer, middle-aged Zille finds it difficult to make a living from his true passion, painting. He lives among the poor and simple people of the city, learning their stories and finding inspiration for his portraits in this "milyer."
