Synopsis
This documentary about the 10th World Festival of Youth and Students contains no form of commentary and comes alive only through the original audio of the students in discussion, the musical contributions, and the speeches and presentations. The German-German encounters and the testimonies of solidarity for the suppressed people of the world are significant elements. The parties, ceremonies, solidarity gatherings, and the march of the national and international youth assocations are also shown.
Special attention and consideration are given to the American civil rights activist Angela Davis, who gives a speech in German. The motto of the World Festival “For Anti-Imperialist Solidarity, Peace and Friendship” is represented through the pictures of optimistic, cheering youths from all over the globe.
