Synopsis
During the Pinochet regime of the mid-1970s, the authorities of the Chilean central bank took certain banknotes out of circulation. They removed bills with hand-written messages like “Allende lives” and “Long live the Unidad Popular,” which had been inscribed by critics of the regime.
