Synopsis

September 11, 1973, 7:30 AM: Salvador Allende enters his office in the presidential palace La Moneda in Santiago de Chile. In the early afternoon he leaves it—dead, wrapped in a blanket. This film is a reconstruction of what happened in those final hours during the coup d’état, reported in detail using unreleased film and photo documents, contemporary television and radio recordings and interviews with ringleaders. The film also features an interview with the president’s widow, Hortensia Bussi de Allende, and the recollections of a man who was by Allende's side to the last hour: Dr. Danilo Bartulin.
