Synopsis

For more than 40 years, Quichua artists have painted colorful pictures of daily life, celebrations and traditions of their villages in the Ecuadorian Andes. In their work, reality and dreams blend with pre-Columbian myths and Christian influences. This art represents a strategy for dealing with poverty and 500 years of outsider control.

This film can be purchased on DVD as part of Simon's Latin American Trilogy.
