This documentary is designed to present an image of a socially and culturally sophisticated East Germany to the international community. Topics covered include the domestic and foreign policy, socialist democracy, intellectual and social life, history, geography and other facets of daily life in the GDR. This film was not shown in ordinary screenings in East Germany.
