Synopsis
This is the first of a masterly chronicle of seven documentaries made over a twenty-three year period. Koepp not only investigates how young women in an agricultural region become workers at a knitting factory, but also how industry changes their lives and thoughts. It features three funny and sensitive young women – Renate, Edith und Stupsi – in a small town just north of Berlin, who relate their personal dreams and their troubles at work.
