Synopsis
Renown (East) German scriptwriter Wolfgang Kohlhaase collaborated with director Konrad Wolf on the 1973 DEFA feature film The Naked Man on the Sports Field. In this interview, Kohlhaase talks about his friendship with sculptor Werner Stötzer, which was the inspiration for the script. He also remembers anecdotes about the painter Albert Ebert, which took place during shooting, and discusses other art works featured in the film, including Breughel’s The Fall of Icarus. Finally, he speaks about the importance of Bertolt Brecht to his own writing.
