Synopsis
Examples of volunteer projects in Dresden and Dachwig illustrate how ordinary citizens can get involved in promoting positive change in their communities.
1. Visitors Council: The advisory board at the Dresden Picture Gallery is made up of volunteers who help attract visitors to the museum and make sure as many people as possible can engage with the arts.
2. A Village Changes Its Face: The residents of Dachwig, a small village in the southern part of the GDR, work together with state and public officials on various iniatives. Their feelings of solidarity and community responsibility grow through this process.
