Synopsis
Three short documentaries show how television shows, books and summer camps contribute to children's development outside of school.
1. Children's television is an important componant of East German broadcasting, with 100 minutes of programming daily. These shows are also carefully designed to contribute to children's education development.
2. The children's book publishing company has produced over 125 million total copies of 3000 different titles since 1949. The joy of reading is also cultivated through schools and film adaptations of popular books like The Journey to Sundevit.
3. Erich Honecker visits young Pioneers from many different countries at an East German international summer camp.
