Synopsis
Key issues of national policy are decided by the GDR parliament, the People's Chamber. Three examples—steel production in Henningsdorf, budget and construction planning in Staßfurt, and development in the rural village of Queienfeld—show how socialist democracy at work, as members of parliament work together with neighbors and colleagues in their home towns to build a better society.
