This documentary on Johann Sebastian Bach was made to commemorate the 225th anniversary of his death. In addition to giving background information on the life and work of this famous composer, footage of the 3rd International Bach Festival and a Bach music competition for young people is used to illustrate Bach's enduring contributions to the GDR's national cultural heritage.
