The legendary amber room, which King Frederick William I of Prussia gave as a gift to Peter the Great of Russian in 1716, was confiscated, dismantled and transported out of Königsberg (Kaliningrad) by the German military and has been missing since 1944.

Lisa (Corinna Harfouch), whose father has been trying to locate the amber room, suspects foul play after her father's sudden death, allegedly due to heart failure. 

Lisa and her fiancé Ludwig (Uwe Kockisch) find themselves caught up in the search for this lost treasure, and they quickly learn that they aren't the only ones hot on the trail. The son of a Nazi soldier involved in the art confiscation, a police detective interested in bringing war criminals to justice and a dangerous murderer are also trying to solve the mystery.
