Synopsis
The music festival "Rock for Peace" was organized by the Central Committee of the Free German Youth and the Committee for Entertainment Arts of the GDR between 1982 and 1987. Featured in the film are youth protests in major cities as well as performances by GDR rock groups including Berluc, Karat, the Puhdys, Silly, and Elefant.
This short documentary, which targeted primarily young audiences, was made in response to the NATO Double-Track Decision of 1979 and the resulting world-wide protests against the arms race.
