Synopsis
The Chilean Junta orders a Catholic mass in praise of its own accomplishments at the Igesia de la Gratitud Nacional on September 18, 1973. The Cardinal, forced to utter benedictions, resorts to words for all those who suffer and prays that they may be freed and consoled. The parishioners must content themselves with Psalm 18: “They cried unto the Lord, but He answered them not.”
The film is also part of the playlist Chilean Experience in East German Cinema and also available for a Digital Site License for educational partners. Please find more information here.
