Otto Auch is looking for a temporary place to stay in Berlin until his family can move into their new apartment. After meeting with Ms. Bissig, a potential landlady, he decides her detailed house rules are too strict for his taste. Later, renovations to her own apartment force her to rent a room from the Auchs, but she tries to enforce the rules there, too.
