Synopsis
The new Popular Front government hasn't brought concrete change for the Spanish people, so poor farmer Pablo convinces the townspeople to fight for their rights and drive the rich oppressors out of town.
A group of students from Madrid come to their aid and Pablo falls in love with Magdalena, who teaches him to read and write. But their happiness is short-lived once the Spanish Civil War breaks out.
Based on the book Um Spaniens Freiheit by Walter Gorrisch.
