Synopsis

Katharina Jens is accustomed to success as a competitive high diving champion. She steps in for her teammate Claudia during an international competition but fails to complete the difficult one-and-a-half somersault with a double twist, costing her team the victory.

Frustrated and disappointed, Katharina begins to doubt her own ability. When her coach recommends taking a week-long break to clear her mind, Katharina interprets this advice as an accusation against her. Although she is miserable at first, the time off introduces Katharina to some new acquaintances who help her work through her fear and insecurity.

The role of Katharina is played by Olympic diver Christiane Lanzke.

“This film advocates sport as an important character-building activity to show that personal development is not separate from social development.” —Victoria Rizo Lenshyn, Directory of World Cinema, Germany 2
