Synopsis
World-renowned composer Georg Friedrich Händel was born on February 13, 1685, in Halle, and his musical talent was discovered and encouraged beginning at a young age. This portrait of the Baroque musician traces his development as an artist: his beginnings in Germany, his stay in Italy, and nearly half of century of work in England. The film concludes with artistic and scholarly interpretations of the "Messiah" and other major compositions, many of which can also be heard in the film.
