East German journalist Thomas Ahrens travels to an international fashion festival at an exclusive Mediterranean seaside resort. But instead of covering the GDR delegation, Thomas ends up being plunged into a comedy of errors. 

When Thomas is mistaken for a famous French designer, rival fashionistas from Rome and London attempt to eliminate their competition. Thomas must cleverly avoid their devious traps, especially the boss of the English gang, a certain Miss Mabel, who tries to seduce him with her feminine charms. By the time the festival is over, Thomas has not only saved the life of the French designer, but he has also found love along the way.
