The penultimate film in the Wittstock documentary series returns to Wittstock shortly after German reunification. The three women featured in the documentary experience various forms of instability and upheaval as the factory where they work is liquidated and Edith leaves Wittstock to start a new life in Württemberg.

Although director Volker Koepp had previously ended the series after the fifth installment, he decided to continue the project after the Wende in order to capture the changes taking place in East Germany.
