Synopsis
This story about a German family during World War II centers around four women living in a house on a river: Mother Voß (Jutta Wachowiak), her two daughters Agnes (Katrin Sass) and Lisbeth (Arianne Borbach), and her daughter-in-law Emmi (Corinna Harfouch). While the men in the family are away fighting, the women do their best to cope on the home front. But the war soon enters their home in the form of looting and bad news from the Eastern front.
