A documentary about the GDR's oldest city, Arnstadt, which was founded in 704. The film describes the historical significance of Arnstadt, its museums–including the Bach Museum–and the noble families who once governed there. It also presents the modern side of the city, especially the renovation and building of new apartment buildings.
