The Westover Aviation Center is being developed for National Aeronautics Research and Training for the certification of Air Traffic Controllers in the vicinity of the Westover Airport and Westover Air Reserve Base. The 8,500 square foot off-campus location will explore greater opportunities through increased collaboration between the University, private industry and the government. State-of-the-art 360 degree air traffic control tower simulator contains additional support space for open-office administrative workstations, classroom learning, and conferencing. The new building will be readily accessible to visitors, and has been designed to accommodate future expansion, including space for future flight simulators which will integrate seamlessly with the ATC tower simulator. The scheduled completion is set for 2021.
