Why Don’t Students Follow Instructions?

In this interactive workshop, you will learn about some simple but powerful time-saving tweaks you can make to your assignment instructions that help students focus on what to do and how to do it. Over lunch, we’ll use the Transparency in Teaching and Learning (TILT) framework, an evidence-based tool that emphasizes the knowledge and skills students will gain through your assignment, how exactly they will demonstrate those skills, and how they will be evaluated.
